Admissions Overview
Thank you for your interest in Striar Hebrew Academy (SHAS). We look forward to meeting with you and beginning your admissions process.
Tours of SHAS are available by appointment throughout the year. Please call Susie Berg, Director of Marketing and Admissions, at 781-784-8724, ext. 256, or e-mail at admissions@striarhebrew.org to arrange a visit. We encourage you to visit our school to see how highly we value each child. Please use the checklist below to make sure you have completed every step toward admission.
Checklist of Application Steps
Please follow these steps to complete the application process:

Contact the Director of Admissions, Susie Berg, for information and a school admissions packet: (781) 784-8724, ext. 256 or admissions@striarhebrew.org

Make an appointment to meet with the Admissions Director for a personal tour of the school.

For children entering Early Childhood, meet with Randy Bergel, director of early childhood education, followed by a meeting with Dr. Richard Wagner, head of school. For children entering Elementary grades, meet with Dr. Richard Wagner. This meeting is often held on the day of your school tour.

Families requesting financial assistance will have the opportunity to confidentially meet with our Business Administrator.

Submit a completed application with application fee. The mailing address for the school is: Striar Hebrew Academy, 100 Ames Street, Sharon, MA 02067.
Please note: All applications for new and continuing students shall be due no later than April 1 in order to plan staff assignments appropriately.
6. Transfer and/or submit all student records and forms (e.g., previous school records, medical forms, emergency contacts and instructions).
7. Receive a letter of acceptance from the Administration.
Age Requirements
Early childhood students must have their birthdays in September of that academic year to enter our Toddler class (2 years old), Nursery (3 years old), Pre-kindergarten (4 years old) and Kindergarten (5 years old). Elementary-age children will be considered age-appropriate for first grade if they are 6 years old by September of that academic year.
