Share a Shabbat/Holiday meal with Reut and Talya
Two B'not Sherut L'umi (young women National Service volunteers of the Israeli army) have arrived in Sharon to work both in Striar Hebrew Academy and Young Israel of Sharon (YI). Reut Gil from Rehovot and Talya Saban from Be'er Sheva will assist in preschool and elementary classes, working one-on-one with students and organizing special programming, with particular focus on Israel.
When asked why they wanted to come to Sharon for their second year of sherut l'umi, Reut said they want to give families here a stronger connection to Israel, according to Cookie Rosenbaum, SHAS Elementary Judaic Principal. All of the families in the Sharon community will have the opportunity to benefit from these talented Israeli women, as the YI-SHAS partnership has made it possible to bring them to Sharon for the year.
