Striar Hebrew Academy is extremely
fortunate to have received a $250,000 donation toward the school’s
building expansion. This significant gift came from the estate of Mr.
Morton Perl, z"l, who was a philanthropist to Orthodox
education and a strong supporter of Israel. Mr.
Perl grew up in Queens, NY, and spent the latter years of his life in
Manhattan.
With this donation, Striar Hebrew
Academy has built significant momentum in its building expansion
campaign. To date, we have raised $783,000 in pledges, which is more
than half way to our $1.5-million goal for the first stage of the
school’s building expansion.
Our progress in this campaign is now
more important than ever, as the school has reached its largest
enrollment to date, with 150 students from toddler-age through sixth
grade. To accommodate this growth, modular classrooms have been
installed, which provide an additional 1,500 square feet of classroom
space. But even with the added space, the school is at capacity.
We lack sufficient space for essential supplemental spaces, such as a
gymnasium and other resource centers, as well as additional student
enrollment. We look forward to taking the next step in our
building plan over the next several years, once we have raised the
pledges to make the plan a reality.
If you are in the position to make a Capital Campaign Contribution or would like to discuss or see the architectural plans of the building expansion, please
email the school at info@striarhebrew.org.
