The elementary grades of Striar Hebrew Academy are located at a facility that is shared by the school and the
Young Israel of Sharon.
The Judaic Studies program, which includes in-depth exploration of Jewish texts and values,
Torah, tefilot (prayers), and Jewish history, is taught within a conversational Hebrew immersion program. The General Studies curriculum focuses on reading, hands-on math and science, art, music, computers and a separate physical education program. The Town of Sharon playground and fields across from the school building provide an enjoyable and convenient venue for students’ recess. |

Curricular Highlights
|
|
|
|
Striar Hebrew
Academy offers a comprehensive and quality program of General and Judaic
Studies, which includes the following specialty areas: art, music and
physical education. The Hebrew-Judaic program is Ivrit language-based,
blending classical textual study with traditional perspectives and
thought. The curriculum focuses on historical and contemporary Israel
and Jewish communal life.
Tal Am and Tal Selah are the curricula utilized for
both Hebrew Language Arts and Jewish Studies at Striar Hebrew Academy.
These curricula are based on the principles of communicative-heritage
language development. They activate learning in all frames of mind by
using a wide range of activities for all modes of communication and
integrate Hebrew language acquisition, the development of Jewish
concepts and values, and reading and writing skills. They offer a
variety of stories, Jewish sources, prayers and blessings, as well as
songs, recitations and plays which are age-appropriate and which aim to
develop the student and his/her Jewish identity.

traditional holiday songs and bring smiles to residents’ faces.
Preschool students enjoy the annual hayride and tour at Ward’s Berry
Farm, and a variety of in-school guest speakers from places such as
Moosehill Wildlife Sanctuary and the Southwick Zoo. Elementary students
