Randy Bergel joins SHAS this fall

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Randy Bergel has been named the new director of early childhood education at the SHAS Yaakov Spellman Early Learning Center. Randy has been an educator in the Boston area for more than 20 years. After graduating with a master's degree in Jewish Communal Service and Education from Brandeis University, she began her career working at the Striar Jewish Community Center as a teacher, and then director, in its early childhood program.

Randy soon became involved in Boston's Jewish early childhood community. She became an active member of the BJE's director's council and a participant of Hebrew College's Early Childhood Director's Seminars; earning their ECE certificates. Her work with the BJE and Hebrew College led her to become an accreditor for Boston's Magen HaGan Jewish accreditation in ECE and one of the initial founders of the Boston Haifa EC exchange program. Over the years Randy has worked as the Early Childhood associate at Hebrew College and the Director of Temple Beth Elohim's nursery school in Wellesley. Recently, she has been working in informal education as the Assistant Manager for Camp Ramah in New England. She has maintained her ties to the Jewish early childhood community as a teacher in Hebrew College's outreach program for EC educators.

"We welcome Randy to Striar Hebrew Academy's administrative team," says Head of School Dr. Richard Wagner. "We look forward to her guiding the program for our youngest students and to helping us achieve an invigorated vision for all of our students."
